Abstract
This study aims to explain the effectiveness of organic fertilizers in improving
the quality of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.) on latosol soil through a
literature review of several relevant studies. Latosol soil is known for its low nutrient
content, requiring appropriate fertilization strategies to optimize plant growth. The
findings show that organic fertilizers, in both liquid and solid forms, improve the
physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil, significantly enhancing plant
height, stem diameter, flower number, fruit weight, and overall yield. Previous studies
confirmed that specific types and doses of organic fertilizers provide optimal
responses for tomato plant quality. This review emphasizes that organic fertilizers
serve as a superior alternative to increase tomato productivity on latosol soil.
