Abstract

Contemporary law is a legal development that has emerged in response to the dynamics of social,
technological, economic, political, and cultural change in the modern era. As an adaptive law,
contemporary law exists to address new issues not addressed by traditional law, such as cybercrime,
the development of biotechnology, global environmental issues, and the complexity of internasional
relations. Forms of contemporary law include cyber law, environmental law, international business
law, modern human rights law, biotechnological advances such as artificial intelligence. Its main
characteristics are responsiveness, dynamism, flexibility, multidisiciplinary nature, and orientation
toward protecting human rights and global interests. The primary focus of contemporary law is to
provide relevant and effective regulations in response to changing times, ensure social justice, and
maintain order and security in the context of rapidly evolving technology and globalization.
