Abstract
This study examines the development of oil palm plantations through an agroecological approach to enhance productivity while maintaining environmental sustainability. The objective is to analyze how agroecological practices can improve Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) yield without compromising biodiversity. The research method employs a literature review of relevant national and international scientific publications. The findings indicate that the use of improved varieties, precision agriculture, sustainable nutrient management, and biological pest control significantly increase productivity while preserving environmental quality. In addition, the conservation of High Conservation Value (HCV) areas and the implementation of agroforestry systems contribute to maintaining ecosystem balance and long-term sustainability. The study concludes that integrating technology with agroecological principles is an effective strategy for sustainable oil palm development. The implication highlights the importance of policy support, technological innovation, and stakeholder collaboration in achieving environmentally friendly and productive plantation systems.
