Abstract

Vegetable plants are a leading commodity in the agricultural sector due to high public demand. Carrots, especially Carrots (Daucus carota L.) are a type of bush-shaped vegetable plant, which grows upright with a height of 30-100 cm or more. This plant has high nutritional value, especially rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, dietary fiber and antioxidants. Carrot plant growth is greatly influenced by the availability of nutrients in the soil. Based on data, carrot crop production experiences fluctuations from year to year. From 2017 to 2023. However, in general, there is an increase in the long term. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers can have a negative impact on soil fertility and environmental health. Therefore, the use of organic fertilizer, such as chicken manure, is a more environmentally friendly alternative. Chicken manure contains high levels of nutrients. This fertilizer is rich in macro nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K), as well as other micro nutrients which are important for the growth of carrot plants. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of chicken manure in increasing the growth and yield of carrot plants. The method used is a qualitative descriptive model. This plant has double or triple pinnate leaves, and is stalked. The leaflets are lanceolate (striped) with lobed leaf edges. Each plant has 5-7 leaf stalks which are quite long, stiff and thick with a smooth surface, while the leaf blades are limp and thin.
