Abstract

Land has a special position in the lives of indigenous peoples in Indonesia and to realize legal order in land ownership, the registration of customary land is a must. The purpose of this study is to find out the registration of customary land reviewed from the perspective of Government Regulation Number 18 of 2021. The nature of the research is descriptive analytical. The data used is secondary data consisting of primary and secondary legal materials while data analysis is carried out qualitatively. The status of customary land in Government Regulation Number 18 of 2021 is included in the registration of land derived from management rights regulated in Article 5 paragraph (2). The implementation of registration of customary land is in accordance with Article 19 of Government Regulation No. 24 of 1997 and Government Regulation Number 18 of 2021. In order for the National Land Agency (BPN) to be more active in socializing the importance of customary land registration and for indigenous peoples to better understand the importance of customary land registration.
